Arundel Castle re-opening statement

Following the re-opening of our gardens in July, we are pleased to announce that our Castle doors will once again open to visitors on Wednesday 5th August 2020.

Given the narrow corridors in some areas of the Castle, the bedrooms, Keep and Armoury and some other rooms will be unavailable, however the Barbican, Regency Library, Barons’ Hall, Drawing Room, Dining Room and view of the Grand Staircase will all be open. Guides will be positioned in each room to offer information and explanations to visitors.

Visitors will pre-book tickets via the Castle website. Tickets will be issued on a weekly basis, from a Friday for the following week. The first release of tickets will be available to purchase from Friday 24th July via www.arundelcastle.org.

Special Castle ticket prices will be offered – £15 for adults, £5 for children (5-16 years) and £35 for families of two adults and up to two children. Children under 5 go free. The existing Gardens-only tickets of £10 for adults, £5 for children, will remain in place.

Open Tuesday – Sunday and bank holiday Monday, 10.00 am – 5.00pm

Unfortunately, given the restrictions regarding social distancing, we are unable to re-open our restaurant and café and therefore catering will not be available on site. However, we urge our visitors to explore the town of Arundel for plenty of delicious food and drink options.

There will be toilet facilities in the Castle and gardens which will be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.

Please note that the reopening of the Castle and the Gardens remains conditional on Government guidance and is subject to change.
