Description
Denmans Garden is an RHS Partner Garden, Grade II registered and renowned for its curvilinear layout and complex plantings. Enjoy year-round colour, unusual plants, structure and fragrance in the gravel gardens, faux riverbeds, Walled Garden, ponds and conservatory. A tranquil, contemporary space on the southern slope of the South Downs, close to Arundel and Chichester visitors will find inspiration for gardeners of all skill levels.
The Plant Nursery features unusual plants propagated on site and the gift shop has garden ornaments and vintage accessories along with work by local artists and makers.
Created by Joyce Robinson, a pioneer in gravel gardening, and former home of influential landscape designer, John Brookes MBE, Denmans is a true piece of local history and a haven and oasis for quiet reflection and local wildlife.
Midpines Cafe is nestled within the old dairy that, as the name suggests, housed a small dairy herd. Now, you will find a sympathetically designed domed conservatory linking the old building which provides a lovely setting for you to sit and watch the world go by.The gravelled garden is shaded by huge trees and in the summer months, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were in the South of France. Whether you are stopping by for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea the food and refreshments at Midpines offer a treat for the tastebuds and the senses.
Annual Artist in Residence Programme and programe of workshops and events.
