Description
Greening Arundel is a passionate alliance of 15 organizations dedicated to driving environmental change in Arundel. Our projects are carried out by the 40-strong Green Team of volunteers. We believe in the power of collective action and community engagement to create a more sustainable, greener town for all.
We are working to increase biodiversity and bio-abundance by transforming green spaces, such as the station forecourt, the Memorial, Jubilee and Pollinator Gardens, the Quayside bed and troughs. We want to help Arundel become a haven for wildlife through our Bring Back the Birds (B-BOB) initiative, the Hedgehog Club and via a Wildlife Corridor. We are working to reduce environmental damage through encouraging positive greening practices, such as our Community Street Weeding initiative as well as our coffee ground collection and distribution scheme.
We are finding ways to engage as many locals of all ages and walks of life as possible in greening activities, with public events, ongoing promotion and dedicated teaching. We are working hard on sustainability in a variety of ways, including through propagation at our own group allotment. We will soon be embarking on a Community Allotment, Food Forest and Healing Garden.
There is much more to do and always room for more people and ideas to help. So if you are interested in finding out more then take a look at our website and Facebook page or and get in touch to find out more about our ongoing projects.
