Dear Gallery Trail Artists,

Only 15 days before our first long weekend of the Gallery Trail!

We hope this note sets out the final details for you. We ask you to please read thoroughly and do get in touch should you have any questions.

Flags
As is the custom we ask all venues to display their Gallery Trail flag during opening times. Given that there are only 23 venues this year, we feel it will be easier if we deliver your flag direct to your venue. This will be done between 1 -3 August. However, regarding public building venues – Arundel Art Society – Sussex Sculptors and Arundel Cathedral,  please could we ask one representative from each venue  to collect the venue flag from 54A Tarrant Street.
Artists at the Victoria Institute do not need to collect a flag as the Vic flagpole will be used.
We unfortunately had to print 11 new flags this year – as not all the flags were returned in 2019…. so a plea to PLEASE return your flag to us at the end of August!

Trail Guides
When we deliver your flag we will also provide you with a number of Trail Guides to hand out to your visitors. Andy Waite has excelled again on the design and layout and we’d also like to publicly thank Zimmer Stewart and Kevis House galleries for taking out full-page adverts in support.

It’s been pure guesswork this year how many copies will be needed . We’ve printed 4000, so if/ when you need replacements for your venues please collect from the Victoria Institute during opening times (Thursdays to Mondays 10.30 to 5pm) throughout August. We hope you will also grab a moment to come and see the Secret Artist Exhibition at the same time!

Track & Trace
When you registered for the Trail it was with the agreement to comply with whatever Covid regulations were in force at the time. At the date of writing almost all legal regulation has been replaced by advisory guidance and personal responsibility. It is therefore up to each venue to set the parameters for public entry. This may change over the next weeks of course, so please stay informed.

There WILL still be the requirement to participate in the government Track & Trace system. Each venue must therefore register, then generate and display their QR code. This can be done by using the link provided here or at https://www.gov.uk/create-coronavirus-qr-poster

Please also create your own sign-in sheet
for those visitors who prefer not to scan the QR code.

Victoria Institute
We will be sending a separate note to all artists exhibiting at the Vic, with site specific requirements and timings for hanging exhibitions etc.

Change of circumstance
These are still uncertain times and none of us know what the outlook will be as we move into August. Should you not be  able to open your venue, please could you let us know. We will adjust the AGT website accordingly.

And finally …. We are still looking into the possibility of an open air get together with drinks for Trail artists. Please bookmark the following dates – Saturday 28th or Sunday 29th August, 5.30 to 7pm. It would be a fitting way for us to Thank you all for making our 3 years as organisers so worthwhile.  More on this in a few weeks!

We look forward to welcoming Art, Artists and Art lovers again to AGT 2021.
